Useful Tips

We impregnate our products with an advanced, water-based impregnant suitable for contact with food that provides excellent protection against stains and long-term wear and is completely environmentally friendly. Maintenance of our products requires very little effort.

Daily maintenance

Maintenance of our concrete products is very simple. A damp cloth, a mild cleanser with a neutral pH or chlorine, or just soapy water is all you will need. Dry the damp surface with a paper towel or towel.

Avoid acidic cleaners and solvent-based cleaners. Abrasive sponges, scrapers or rough brushes are also not suitable for cleaning as they can scratch and damage the surface. Damaged concrete can absorb dirt in the future and visible stains can appear on its surface.

Stains

Our concrete products are very resistant to stains. The impregnated surface is protected from the most common foods consumed at home (red wine, beets, lemon juice, oil, etc.). However, we always recommend cleaning the surface as soon as you notice impurities. It is especially important to remove nail polish, hair dye or mustard stains as soon as possible. Stains can appear in areas that have previously been mechanically damaged or the surface itself has been misused.

If a stain appears on the concrete surface, first try to clean it with a bleach containing chlorine. If you use concentrated bleach, be sure to dilute it with water in the proportions specified by the manufacturer. Then place a bleached sponge or cloth on the stain and leave until the stain disappears. This can take from a few minutes to a few hours depending on the nature of the stain and how long the product that caused the stain has been left on the surface. Don’t worry, the bleach will not damage the surface.

Scratches

Do not cut food on a concrete surface, always use cutting boards. The knife can damage the waterproofing material and in those areas the surface may start to soak up dirt in the future. The concrete surface can also be damaged by pushing heavy or rough-bottomed objects on it. All scratches can be removed by gently sanding and re-impregnating the surface.

Heat

The impregnated concrete surface is heat resistant up to 260˚C. Although the pot removed from the stove should not leave any marks on the concrete surface, we recommend that you always use protective trays. This is necessary so that micro-cracks do not appear in the concrete beneath the impregnate.

Re-impregnation

With proper surface care regular re-impregnation is not required. However, if the surface is mechanically damaged, we recommend doing so. Contact us and we will provide you all the help you need to properly impregnate your existing product or we will do it for you.
